They really want to go to the library but I don’t want to drive in the rain. I am always a nervous type so I told them we will go when their dad will be home. Right after dinner we hit the road to the library. We borrowed ten books and four dvds for each of them. Most of his books are about dinosaurs. She borrowed some Dr. Seuss books. I also borrowed some books and dvds. This is our first time to go to the library to borrow some books. We were allowed to borrow 35 books each for 3-4 weeks. I thought it was cool. I just let them borrow ten books and get some more when they will be done with it. My husband borrowed some music cds. The kids went home happy and excited even if it was still raining.;-) Now they will have something to be busy with. Their teacher suggested this for them to do which was really a good idea.

I brought my kids with me to Walmart to get the toys, chocolate and candies on sale. I think it’s a good price to get it at fifty percent off. The funny thing is my daughter wanted to get a doll stroller which was not actually on sale. I gave her a chance to get it just to make her happy. She also got a big rabbit stuff toy on sale. My son got a big basket with varied stuff in it that he enjoyed playing with. I also allowed him to buy a stuff toy. That made both of them so happy. I got some chocolates and candies for my husband and a water bottle for me. We all went home happy.

Our neighbor’s kid went here to play with my kids when we went home. The kids love it that they are starting to have some friends around. I was rearranging my plants in the pots. They were all growing so fast. I moved the tomato alone on one pot. This way it would have time and space to grow all by itself. I rearranged my Brussel sprouts and Chinese cabbage. It all looked a lot better now. I can’t wait to see my tomatoes bearing flowers and fruits. For sure it would be an added savings to the family when we don’t have to buy some tomatoes every week.

For some reason I had this feeling of buying a new big bag. My husband was wondering why because I already have tons of bags but I felt the urge of buying one. We went to Target and he did not insist about it. It’s a good thing that he just went with me. I felt like it’s the end of the world if I can’t buy one. It sounds crazy.;-) I bought a big white bag. Like black I can pair it with anything. I felt so happy bringing my bag home. My daughter also went to the dollar section and bought some things she liked there. I think there are really days that I feel this way. I thank my husband for not insisting and for buying the nice bag for me. I really love to collect bags and shoes. I even have shoes and bags that were not used yet which seem odd but true. I guess this is some kind of an outlet for me since I don’t have any other vices. Lol. Do you like to collect things too?

Today we went to see where the public library is located. My kids and I will be going there tomorrow so they can read and borrow some books. The day is nice even if there is a little bit of a wind gust. We went to Walmart to buy some more pots since my plants are growing fast and they seem to be overcrowded. We haven’t found a 24-inch so we went to Lowe’s and was able to get two 30-inch pots. I need to transfer my tomato in another pot so it can grow well. I’m excited.;-) And by the way, Happy Easter!

Right after dinner the sink was full of dishes, pots and pans. With a family of five it takes time to prepare dinner much more with keeping after dinner. Even if we have a dishwasher I wash the pots and pans by hand and scrape off the morsels from the plates. I cleaned the microwave, and the oven. The table needs to be cleared from all the dinner plates. I can feel the grease on the kitchen floor, for sure it needs to be mopped. Thank goodness I have my little helpers. I washed the mop with soap and chlorine then mopped the floor. The kids enjoyed helping me. I noticed that when I get too busy they want to get involved. When I sit down and leave alone to do the work they will also sit beside me so I just kept on doing the needed chore and I am glad finally I am done. I felt so much relieved to have done things with the help of my children.

I don’t have to make food so it is some kind of a treat for me and my family. Today we went to Chammps for dinner. James loved his corn dog and fries. Heaven loved her chicken strips and fries. I ordered a chicken satay. It is broiled chicken on a skewers and some mixed vegetables. My husband ordered kung pao chicken. It is made of chicken tenders stir fried in a spicy sauce with carrots and crunchy peanuts served over green onions in a sizzling skillet. It came with jasmine rice thats smelled really good and some asian vegetable medley. Yeeha! It was real good. It was very delicious. Actually we have been there once before and I was missing it so I told my husband that I want to go there again.

The kids and I will be enjoying a ten-day spring break vacation. Easter will soon be here. I have asked my children what Easter is all about and you know what they told me? They said it is all about egg hunting. I thought that was funny but I explained to them about what the real meaning of Easter is and thank God they now know already what it is. Since the school is pretty much non- sectarian I guess that is the reason why they never really explain what it is. I am planning on what to do during those days. Oh well, I have already planned one and that is to go and visit the garden. We will also go biking, window shopping, library visits, reading books, coloring pages. I am still thinking what other fun stuff that we will be doing. I hope we can go down the boardwalk in Atlantic City. The last time we were in Ocean City it was still so cold. I think a lot of people are going down to the shore this weekend since it would be really high tide. I also want to visit my friend Irene in Baltimore. Having that in mind as plan, I am really very excited. How about you what are you going to do this spring break?

Oh and by the way did you know that I have already transferred my red and yellow ranunculus flowering on the soil? They look so adorable. When the flowers that are in bloom weather they have some buds that are about to bloom too so I am really excited about that. I have also seensome seedlings from the small sunflowers that just happen to fall from the old sunflower plant last summer in our front yard. Looks like there are plenty of them. I hope they willgrow well and bloom too.

May you have many more birthdays to come handsome boy.;-) We love you so much, you know that. Hope your day was a good one for you.

A simple celebration of muffins and spaghetti for my son who turned seven yesterday. He was anxious to bring the muffins to school so he can share it with his classmates. I ran to the store to buy some whipped cream. The muffins were a bit hot when I hurried placed the cream on top because slowly they melted away while I placed the sprinkles. Nevertheless I brought it with me to my son’s school. On the way to school , I changed my mind and went back to whole foods to get some muffins to be brought to school. It had icing and toy ring on top of it making it looked really good. I also bought some juice for the kids. I handed the muffins to his teacher and his teacher and went back home right away. It was raining on and off. I decided to make spaghetti. When they came home from school he looked so happy bringing his leftovers. They went to the kitchen and was happy to see the spaghetti. My daughter ate 3 servings which was unimaginable to me. She must have really liked the taste. I remembered making spaghetti on my son’s first birthday. Everybody was looking at me and my spaghetti. They were so engrossed and excited forgot that my son was left alone jumping up and down on the couch and all of a sudden he fell on the floor. We celebrated the day with and icebag on his forehead. When I retold the story to my kids they were wondering if it was true because they have no remembrance of it. Oh well, how could a one year old and a two year old remember things? I told them that I will show them the pictures when we will have a vacation in the Philippines. It was an incident I could never forget.

My friend Mary Ann shared with me her photos when she visited the Flowerfields in San Diego California. An array of various colors of flowers in bloom looked so gorgeous. It is such a joy to see the wonderful flowers that seem to make everyone feel heavenly. I showed it to my husband and he told me that there is a beautiful flower garden in Philadelphia that we can go and see. In fact it is one of the country’s most beautiful sight to see. I looked it up on the internet and I got very excited because it is really very awesome!. They claim it to be the world’s premier horticultural showplace. The garden is neatly trimmed and designed. It’s not just all about the flowers but you can also discover a lot about plants and animals that are so much involeved with plants. My husband told me to check out where to park, the price of tickets to get in there, so basically I think we will be there soon.;-) It would be wonderful to see the beauty of nature and I really look forward to it! Thank you Mary Ann for sharing us your pictures and giving us a good idea of bonding time for our family.

Everyone has times when he or she struggles. Struggling is a chance to grow and learn. What have you struggled with? How did you grow from it? Funny how I underestimated my kids with adjustment. Having migrated to America for less than a couple of years, sometimes I felt a little bit scared for them as a mom that it might be hard for them to be able to adjust in a new environment. I think as as a mother it is but natural. I tried my best to be around them most of the time so it would be easy for them. My love and support is their security blanket and in my observation they have pretty much adjusted well. They have grown and learned so well. I gave myself a tap on the back for that and I am grateful my husband has always been so good with the support. Never have I thought I would look at my self and asked: Am I struggling? Am I looking at it as a chance to learn? Each day is a struggle for me since I have lesser exposure with people. But every chance I get to be exposed with people is a learning encounter. My children are such an inspiration. If they can do it , why can’t I? I thank God my life is a simple struggle compared to what others have. Or shall I say it became simple because I have dealt life with optimism.
